Unannounced 3rd Person Sci-Fi Action Game – Pigs Will Fly

During my time at Pigs Will Fly we worked on a ambitious Sci-Fi action game with inspiration from greats like Mass Effect and Returnal

My responsibilities:

  • Lead-Design:: as my primary role, being the team-leader and voice for the design group in planning and execution. It also included being the lead for the audio team.
  • Additional Game Direction: helping our creative director hone his vision into an actual game. Additionally creating pillars, writing vision statements and example players
  • Production: planning, prioritizing and executing the vision in a established IP

As I joined mid development of this massive game, one of my first tasks was to challenge and create a viable vision for us to focus around. While the original vision had potential it lacked that specific USP we needed. Together with our talented team we refined the vision and created a really exciting game concept that would’ve been fantastic to complete.

Beyond looking at the vision I, as Lead Designer, kept track and planning for the design and audio teams. Through ClickUp and Miro we had day to day syncs on tasks, and how the game felt.
As the closest person to our CD I also reviewed most work produced from writing, audio, art and design to always stay on track to our vision.

On the design side, this project was created in UE5 and there I used Blueprints, AngelScript and flow to create missions, levels and overall puzzles for the player to experience in this narrative adventure.
